44 Clinical OMICs July/August 2017 www.clinicalomics.com Industry Events Next Generation Dx Summit Washington, DC, August 15–18 Next Generation Dx Summit brings together more than 1,000 diagnostic professionals from around the world for networking and comprehensive programming spanning from clinical diagnostics to business strategy. Now in its ninth year, the event has grown to include novel immuno- therapy biomarkers, cell-free DNA, companion diagnostics, infectious disease, point-of-care, pharmacy-based diagnos- tics, clinical NGS assays, commercialization, reimburse- ment, prenatal testing, circulating tumor cells, critical care, forensics, digital PCR, microfluidics, and microbiome diag- nostics. Precision Medicine Leaders Summit San Diego, August 21–24 Now in its second year, the Precision Medicine Leaders Summit will seek to the separate hype from the hard task of translating innovative discoveries into clinical benefits. The agenda captures the diverse breadth of precision medicine with contributions from academia, industry, payers, regu- lators and patients. The meeting format places an empha- sis on panel discussions rather than lectures, with panel members selected to ensure candid, and potentially provoc- ative, commentaries on the opportunities and chal- lenges in precision medicine. Day one's in-depth pre-conference workshops include topics such as next-generation sequencing and precision oncology. The main conference runs over three days with topics ranging from the role of diagnostics in precision care and the use of proteomic testing, to the rise of artificial intel- ligence and how wearable devices can affect treatment plans and improve outcomes. World CDx Boston Boston, October 17–19 World CDx Boston 2017 provides industry-defining discus- sions on the strategic challenges facing the real-world appli- cation of precision medicine and companion diagnostics. Discover why, how and when to adopt a CDx strategy in drug development programs, and considerations to ensure effective collaboration in order to define a CDx strategy that brings value to targeted drugs. Presentations will exam- ine key challenges including revamping reimbursement strategy to focus on clinical outcomes, selecting the most appropriate and fit-for-purpose CDx platform to maximize real-world adoption, and methods to get buy-in from phy- sicians and patients alike. Attendees will also gain valuable insight to emerging technology, such as liquid biopsies and multiplexing, generating novel biomarker signatures that are demonstrating their predictive power for patient selec- tion, treatment, and resistance monitoring. American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG) Annual Meeting Orlando, FL, October 17–21 The ASHG Annual Meeting provides a forum for the pre- sentation and discussion of cutting-edge science in all areas of human genetics. This year 's meeting is expected to attract more than 6,500 scientific attendees, plus almost 250 exhib- iting companies. ASHG members and leading scientists from around the world will present their research findings at invited, platform, and poster sessions. The meeting also offers an Exhibit Hall featuring state-of-the-art medical and laboratory equipment, products, services, and com- puter software designed to enhance human genetics research, teaching, and consultation. New this year, is a pre-conference symposium "The Mind Mat- ters: Psychiatry Meets Human Genetics" jointly presented by ASHG and the International Society of Psychiatric Genetics (ISPG), aimed at promoting collaboration among the two related fields. novielysa / Getty Images
